Cookie monster;Escape from the top shelf

  • by

Where do you keep your cookies? We keep ours on top of the fridge, In plain sight. There is no escape from the cookies. I don’t even really try! Cookies are bad for us and have way too much sugar, but they taste so good.

But the sad reality is that I don’t have room to complain. I make them don’t I? And there is a part of me that feels that if the house has kids, it should have cookies. That being said, I make cookies about once a week and I usually share with the kiddos who come play with my kiddos.

I came by this recipe through Pinterest for oatmeal cookies and they were delicious. But I started noticing that with this recipe I couldnt get it just right. So this is one variation of a recipe that I changed to fit our family. You can find the original here. I have made so many variations of 2 recipes that we make at least once a week.

The bad part is I feel guilty. On the one hand, I am unhappy about my weight. And cookies is not going to help. On the other hand I love to bake. Baking relaxes me. Baking is one of my go-to moves to deal with stress. Not necessarily one of my better ones but it helps so…

Let me know how the recipe turns out for you and if you decided to do the original! They are both so delicious.
